Satya's first birthday fell on a Sunday (June 29th) so, we were able to have her party on her actual birth date! My brother Ross and his wife Nichole were gracious enough to share their home for the party's venue. It was a simple affair with cake and ice cream, family and a few close friends. Her big brother, Nathaniel, helped her blow out the candle.
Unfortunately, my mom couldn't make it to the party as she was in Montana. But, "Bobo" had input on Satya's birthday dress, which I made. Bobo said I had a little sundress with eyelet lace and pink gingham for the skirt when I was her age so, I tried to make something similar. We couldn't find a photo of me in my dress so I had to wing it. I added some pink rosebud trim between the bodice and the skirt because Satya seemed to want it! I took the trim out to see what it would look like on the dress and she saw it and immediately fell in love with it! She put the strand of rosebuds around her neck and crawled around the house with them on for probably an hour.

If there was a prize for the person who gave her the favorite gift, Bobo would win hands down! Bobo gave her a little doll stroller for her dolly. I knew it was going to be the favorite so, I strategically left it for last. It was the most darling thing to watch her push that baby around in her stroller and fuss over getting her into it just right. She would push the baby a few feet, stop and take her out, pat her back, and then put her back in the stroller and push a few more steps, repeat....
